Construction is for Everyone

Construction is for Everyone is the Primary School's Construction Engagement Initiative delivered across Yorkshire and the Humber.
Having delivered sessions to over 300 children between January and March 2026, YIRTG has an ambition to reach 1,500 children in the year to March 2027.
Session commence with an full class introduction to the construction industry and its varied career paths, tailored to suit primary-age learners.
Students will then be divided into smaller groups of 5-6 and participate in practical activities using foam bricks, including building towers, walls, and structures of their own design. Smaller classroom based activities include shape building activities, exploring 2D and 3D shapes and dimensions.

Activities are designed to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.
The sessions will conclude with a basic evaluation, allowing students to reflect on their experiences and learning outcomes.
By investing in early career awareness, we have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in Yorkshire.
This initiative will not only nurture curiosity and ambition but also strengthen links between education and industry, laying the groundwork for a skilled and diverse future workforce.
We look forward to working in partnership to deliver this valuable initiative. If you would like to get involved please CONTACT US
